A carpet is a must!

A carpet completes a room in many ways. A room composition without a carpet usually appears incomplete and cold. Carpets have many functions that significantly improve the living experience and quality of life. Apart from the visual properties of carpets, they also have some practical benefits that should not be overlooked: among other things, carpets improve the room acoustics, as carpets, depending on their design and size, absorb sound. Carpets also reduce unpleasant footfall noise. The feeling of walking on carpets with the appropriate pile height can be described as particularly pleasant. Whether in socks or better still barefoot – walking on carpets is like walking on clouds. Carpets also reflect body heat, depending on the material, and counteract “cold feet”. Carpets also bind house dust in their pile. This makes carpets positive for house dust allergies.

Carpets for every room

A carpet brings elegance and exclusivity to any room. Carpet galleries or carpet runners for hallways and corridors or even carpets in the bedroom for bed surrounds. Shapes such as round, oval or even octagonal carpets, freestanding or for the flattering use under dining tables are all possible with ANNA VEDA. “Free form carpets” that adapt to the architecture and blend into the designed formal language. There are no limits to the possibilities with ANNA VEDA carpets. Even in the bathroom, handmade carpets enhance the visual but also, and above all, the tactile enjoyment of walking barefoot. Of course, the living room is classically a central place for the special, individual carpet. But even in the children's room, the obligatory street play carpet does not have to be used.

Custom-made carpets, special designs and your own design

Anything is possible – the ANNA VEDA Carpet Atelier (Carpet Configurator). Custom-made carpet at ANNA VEDA doesn't just mean the actual meaning of the words – carpet according to size or carpet according to special size. Instead, custom-made carpet at ANNA VEDA stands for the most individual carpet customization. All carpets that ANNA VEDA manufactures are custom-made. Everything can be adapted and changed online via the unique and intuitive ANNA VEDA Carpet Atelier (Carpet Configurator). You not only choose a different carpet size, but also seamlessly change colors, pile heights, materials, structures, sizes up to a maximum of 800×2000cm, long pile, high pile, short pile. Everything is entirely your choice until your custom-made carpet matches exactly what you've always wanted. ANNA VEDA provides you with hundreds of carpet designs and carpet suggestions, including those of renowned carpet designers, which you can customize and modify at will. Of course, you can also easily upload your own design and adapt it to your very special carpet. A carpet (design) adapted or uploaded by you in the ANNA VEDA Carpet Atelier (Carpet Configurator) is, after completion, always a unique carpet piece, which truly deserves the term unique and is manufactured exclusively for you according to your specifications by skilled hands.

Conceive and place carpets

A carpet is usually the last element to complete a room. Rarely is the room design based on a carpet. As a result, a carpet must adapt to the existing conditions, which by principle often leads to some compromises in the classic selection process. Does the color combination fit, is it the right size, to name just a few parameters. With ANNA VEDA and the Carpet Atelier (Carpet Configurator), there are no more compromises. You want to match the color combination of your carpet to an element in your room? No problem. Any color and color combination is freely selectable. Corresponding innovative and intuitive tools let you upload a photo with your target color combination and selectively adapt it to your desired carpet in the easiest way possible. It doesn't get any more precise than that. Or you've chosen a carpet design, but you want a tonal color combination for your carpet with an accent color from your room. Use the ANNA VEDA tonal function and choose your target color – done. Your designed desired carpet is too dark for you – no problem. You can adjust the brightness and color intensity of your carpet seamlessly.

Carpets with long pile, high pile, short pile

In the ANNA VEDA Carpet Atelier (Carpet Configurator) you have the opportunity to determine the pile height yourself. The pile height of a carpet can be used as a design element but also as a functional element. In carpet design, you can make the carpet design appear more spatial (3D effect) by raising the pile of a color area. Functionally, the choice of pile height is important, for example, when using it under a dining table when chairs need to be moved. Then a carpet with a shorter pile is recommended. It should be noted when choosing the pile height of the carpet that the higher the pile is chosen, the blurrier the carpet design appears in the representation. Therefore, carpets with a high pile should have simple designs. On the other hand, a dense high-pile carpet is wonderfully fluffy, especially when using the carpet barefoot or in socks. Shaggys, on the other hand, are high-pile carpets, but they are relatively coarse and not tightly processed. They are therefore optically fluffy carpets, but harder to walk on than expected.

Carpets with loop or cut pile

The choice of whether to use loop or cut pile is primarily for design reasons, which you can choose in the ANNA VEDA Carpet Atelier (Carpet Configurator) partially for each color area or for the entire carpet. The use of loop changes the structure of the carpet, or the selected area, and also increases the light reflection more or less depending on the material. Technically, the loop has the advantage that dirt cannot penetrate the "closed" thread in the pile as easily as if the carpet pile was cut. A short carpet pile in loop is also more durable than a cut pile of the same height. However, the design representation of the carpet suffers with excessive use of the loop.

Manufacturing methods for carpets by ANNA VEDA

ANNA VEDA exclusively manufactures carpets by hand. ANNA VEDA uses four production methods for carpets: hand-woven, hand-knotted Persian, hand-knotted Tibetan, hand-tufted. Each of these production methods has its own special characteristics. Hand-woven carpets use fewer colors. The possible carpet design is limited in shape and not very complex. The advantage is the relatively short production time. In contrast, carpets with a Persian knot have a fine surface and are characterized by high detail fidelity. Carpets with a Tibetan knot can also realize fine carpet designs, but they have a characteristic line structure for the knotting technique, which exudes a special handcrafted charm. In comparison, hand-tufted carpets are again faster to produce than knotted carpets. However, tufted carpets, due to the manufacturing technique, have to be glued with latex – also, tufted carpets are not as detailed in design as knotted carpets. In frequently used areas, we recommend knotted carpets, as the carpet construction is significantly more stable.

The choice of materials

ANNA VEDA allows you to choose between the following materials for almost all products, partially for a color or for the entire carpet: New Zealand wool (mostly worsted), silk, nettle, linen, bamboo, Tencel™ and various material combinations thereof. These can be selected individually for each carpet in the ANNA VEDA Carpet Atelier (Carpet Configurator). ANNA VEDA does not use plastics, or plastic fibers, in its carpets, but only sustainable materials. Plastics burden our environment in every way and, for ANNA VEDA, do not belong in a handmade carpet.

Carpets and underfloor heating

Underfloor heating is not a restriction when choosing a desired carpet. Flat-woven carpets are often recommended for use with underfloor heating. This seems obvious at first glance, but in the end it is irrelevant. You don't have to do without a carpet with pile! Read here why: Handmade carpets, woven or knotted carpets, let the heat from underfloor heating "through" to some extent, because woven or knotted carpets consist in their basic construction of a warp and weft weave and are therefore basically permeable, not closed. In addition, the production density (e.g. knotting density), pile height and the material used influence the permeability of the heat. The permeability of heat through the carpet only influences how quickly a room heats up and not whether it heats up generally. A comparison to wooden floors on underfloor heating is helpful here. Wood has basically insulating properties, like wool in a carpet. Nevertheless, for example, parquet is generally suitable for use with underfloor heating. The principle lies in the general warming and heat emission of the wooden floor, which, due to the insulating value of the wood layer, takes correspondingly longer than with less insulating materials. The same applies to the use of carpets on underfloor heating. The more insulating the carpet, due to its materials, density and pile height, the longer it takes for the carpet to warm up to transfer the heat to the room. Basically, this is negligible for carpets, as it will settle down in use with underfloor heating. In total, neither more nor less heating is required. Conversely, a carpet acts like a heat reservoir – similar to a piece of clothing – regardless of where the heat source is located.

Carpet reference samples

You have the choice. After creating your desired carpet, you can order a hand sample (material and color reference) to be able to decide in peace whether our implementation of your creation meets your expectations. This sample carpet is manufactured just as individually as the final carpet.

There are three sample sizes to choose from: 30 cm x 30 cm, 60 cm x 60 cm and 90 cm x 90 cm. Choose any section of your created desired carpet with the sample size.

Don't order your desired carpet until you have received your reference sample and everything suits you. Of course, you can make corrections and have another reference sample sent to you.

Interior Designers

ANNA VEDA is the carpet resource for interior designers. Besides an extensive collection, ANNA VEDA has many tools to implement color design and specifications in the shortest possible time.

It is also no hurdle to realize your own designs via the ANNA VEDA system (after a short briefing) or even entire collections and to visualize them immediately for the customer (ready for sale).

In terms of color selection, there are no limits with ANNA VEDA – free, seamless color selection, brightness and intensities – no tedious matching using the otherwise usual limited color sets.
You use Pantone or have a RAL specification – no problem, you can already transfer the most important colors directly into your creation.

Resellers

Especially handmade carpets pose a special challenge for retailers. The customer's interior is standing and the matching carpet is to be offered/sold. This requires inventory and therefore space requirements, considerable capital commitment and yet the question remains is the carpet available that the customer is currently looking for?

With ANNA VEDA, it is easy to sell both on large screens, mobile on smartphone, tablet, or laptop on site at the customer, in other departments, etc. The customer can also be involved: for example, creations can be sent by e-mail for further processing by the customer themselves.
